LACEY, NJ – Activists will be holding a vigil on Saturday November 23rd, 2019 in memory of the three dogs that were abandoned in a vacant home by a local resident, and left to die.
The candlelight vigil is set to take place at Gille Park from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“3 Beautiful dogs lost there [sic] life due to a neglectful owner that abandoned them to starve to death,” event organizers said in a Facebook posting about the event. “Gizmo, Fred, and Kobe were such amazing dogs that did not deserve this! While a investigation is ongoing we are holding a Memorial/Candle Visual in memory.”
Yesterday, it was announced by law enforcement officials that the owner of the dogs, Allissa DeStefano, 29, of Toms River was charged with 3 counts of animal cruelty. A court date is pending on the charges.
